Illegal Stoppage of Coal Mining and Dispatch by Unorganized Persons at Bharat Coking Coal Ltd's ABOCP Mine

Coal mining and dispatch work in the ABOCP Mine under Block-II of Bharat Coking Coal Ltd has been illegally stopped by unorganized persons since April 2, 2026, around 3:00 PM. The local mazdoors, previously deployed by transport contractors for shale picking and segregation work at railway sidings, have been raising demands for full-time HPC wages and other allied benefits. Despite an agreement with the local administration to distribute work among them and engage them for only 4-5 days per month, they have stopped coal production and transportation. The company has taken actions including mailing letters to concerned authorities, lodging an FIR, and apprising the HoD(IR), D(HR), and other authorities in HQ.
